2010 TBAC Annual Picnic

On Saturday, June 19, TBAC held their annual picnic at Ridley Creek State Park. It was a great time for all; the weather was warm, but our picnic site was in a wooded area with a big pavilion and we all managed to stay cool.

We held our general membership meeting at about 12:30 PM. During this meeting, elections were held for the Board officers and members. The new Board of Directors is:

  • President Carol Houton
  • Vice-President Dorothy Freeman
  • Recording Secretary Joyce Smuda
  • Corresponding Secretary Terry Meckley
  • Treasurer Diane Scola
  • Members at large:
    - Marlene Corcoran,
    - Theresa McNally
    - Mickie Deserable (newly-elected)

After the meeting, Sara Lou Peck conducted a game of “Musical Hoops” for the dogs and handlers. The winner was Tamsin Lorraine with her Boston Terrier, Bindi.

Lunch followed with a catered lunch from Wegman’s. We had assorted sandwiches, a Greek salad and the usual accompaniments. Dessert was a scrumptious tray of assorted pastries.

Another game followed – “Bobbing for Hotdogs”. The competition was fierce in the final round, but Carol Houton’s Dobe, Cali, won. (I swear I don’t starve her!)

Immediately following was a talk and demonstration from Veterinarian Siobhan Burke, VMD centering on holistic therapies for active and injured dogs. She gave everyone the opportunity to have their dogs analyzed with her spinal activator.

Thanks to all the members who attended. A special thanks to Marlene who supplied the food for us, to Sara Lou and Terry who organized the games, and to Terry and Theresa who recruited Dr. Burke. Hope you enjoyed your day.
